What we do with your email address.

What we collect

One thing you give us: the email address you type into the waitlist form. Nothing else. We do not ask for your name, and we do not ask for anything about your book.

We set no cookies on this site. There is no analytics, no advertising pixel, and no third-party script of any kind. We are not tracking you between pages or between visits, and we cannot build a profile of you.

Two things are collected automatically, and we would rather say so than imply nothing is. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, keeps standard server logs of requests to the site, which include your IP address, the page you asked for, and your browser type. That is ordinary web-server operation and is used to keep the site running and secure. Separately, when you submit the waitlist form we hold your IP address in memory for up to ten minutes, so that the same address cannot flood the form. Neither is stored alongside your email address, and neither is used to identify you.

Why we collect it

So we can tell you when Fifth Chapter is ready to try. That is the only thing we will use your email address for. We will not add you to a marketing list, we will not send you anything else, and we will not pass it to anyone else to market to you.

Our lawful basis is your consent. You gave it by choosing to enter your address, and you can withdraw it at any time by emailing us, which we treat as a request to delete. Withdrawing does not affect anything we did lawfully beforehand.

Who else sees it

Your address is sent through Cloudflare’s email service, acting as our processor, and arrives in an inbox we monitor. Cloudflare processes it only to deliver that message. The site itself is also hosted by Cloudflare. They are our only processor, and we do not sell or share your address with anyone.

If Orbll Ltd were ever involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, your information could transfer as part of that. That is set out in the full Orbll policy.

How long we keep it

Only as long as we need it for the purpose above. In practice that means until Fifth Chapter has launched and you have been told, or until you ask us to delete it, whichever comes first. We may keep it longer only where the law requires us to. When there is no longer a reason to hold it, we delete it.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to restrict how we use it, or object to us using it at all. You can also withdraw your consent. Email legal@orbll.com and we will action it. There is no charge, and you do not need to give a reason.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK regulator, at ico.org.uk. If you are in the EEA you can complain to your own national data protection authority instead.

Age

Fifth Chapter is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe we have, email legal@orbll.com and we will delete it.
